At This is Med we have a very direct connection with the Mediterranean Sea and our passion for it leads us to always keep it present in all our programs and services.

Our love for the sea drives us to rediscover the essence of local life by offering responsible and transparent tourism that respects both the city and our ocean. Our ambassador, Triton, representing the ocean, inspires our unwavering social and environmental commitment; we care for and protect everything that exists and happens there. That’s why «WE CARE FOR THE SEA» is our CSR motto, and it’s also the motto of our clients.

Our team at This is MED has the fundamental goal of giving back more than we receive from the Mediterranean Sea. In our event programs, this goal is made manifest in a simple way.

WE WORK WITH SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS ON BOARD OUR FLEET AND AT OUR EVENTS.

OCEAN 52 – WE SAY GOODBYE TO PLASTIC

As ocean lovers, we are acutely aware of the devastating effect of plastic on marine life, and for this reason, we have decided to remove all plastic water bottles from our events. Instead, we have replaced them with canned or glass water from OCEAN 52, an organization dedicated to cleaning and protecting the seabed, which donates 52% of its profits to this cause through the provision of plastic-free water.

We rely on Ocean 52 as our official supplier because of the materials they use;

• Glass: It is a waterproof and non-porous material that can be continuously recycled without loss of quality or creation of waste.
• Aluminum cans: It is one of the easiest materials to recycle, and it only uses 5% of the energy in its production, being a durable, lightweight and easy-to-transport material.

Our decisions, however small they may seem, have a great impact on how we treat the world, and luckily, we have the opportunity to lead by example.

• SUSTAINABLE CATERING

For the same reason that we at MED have eliminated plastic bottles, we also take appropriate action regarding all plastic or non-recyclable waste generated during an event. This is precisely why we take special care with the tableware we use in our catering services.

You’ll find starters served on bamboo, ceramic, methacrylate plates and all kinds of biodegradable materials, thus limiting the overall waste from our events.

WE CARE FOR THE SPECIES THAT LIVE IN OUR SEA

CRAM FOUNDATION – WE GIVE OUR CUSTOMERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPONSOR A TURTLE

Our commitment to the ocean is strong and constant, which is why we actively protect the environment in which we work through the local organization CRAM, a foundation dedicated to the conservation and recovery of marine fauna in the Mediterranean.

For every event booked with MED, we make a donation to sponsor a resident tortoise at the foundation. You will receive a sponsorship certificate through which you will learn its story and become a part of its life.

We believe it is vitally important that everyone contributes what they can to caring for the environment with the intention of creating global concern and action.

It’s not about everyone doing everything, but about everyone doing something.

WE CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROTECTION OF SOCIAL CONFLICTS THAT OCCUR IN OUR MEDITERRANEAN

We collaborate with donations to protect those people who try to reach Europe fleeing war, persecution or poverty across the Mediterranean.

WE SEEK TO RAISE AWARENESS AND GENERATE A POSITIVE CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS.

Through Biosphere certification, we adhere to the pact and responsibility of tourism sustainability, guaranteeing a balance between the economic, socio-cultural and environmental dimensions of the destinations in which we operate.

Thanks to our CSR programs, we encourage participation in practices and activities with a positive environmental impact and guarantee our commitment to and with the ocean.

We are proud to turn our This is MED commitment into a reality through our corporate event programs.

We guarantee this through our «WE CARE FOR THE SEA» seal, a responsible commitment our clients make to the Mediterranean. In other words, by participating in our CSR programs, they contribute to and leave a positive social and environmental mark on the sea through:

• A financial contribution from the cost of the program to foundations related to the care of the ocean and everything that happens there.
